The purpose of the workshop is to allow students to generate essay topic ideas by doing various exercises and land on the an essay they want to draft to as their Common Application Personal Statement. Students will work on an outline of the essay and begin drafting it.

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA ESSAY WORKSHOP
An intensive workshop designed for seniors who plan to apply to UCs. We will review all of the essay prompts for the University of California system applications.
The goal of this camp is to help students understand what is being asked of them and to help them identify topics they will cover for the prompts they plan to answer. Students should be able to generate essay ideas by doing various exercises and come up with essay ideas for the relevant prompts. Students will then work on an outline of the essays.

SUPPLEMENTAL ESSAY WORKSHOP
Most universities require students to fill out supplemental essays and submit them with their Common or Coalition Applications. This session will help students explore what is being asked of them and how they should approach these essay questions.
These essays are a critical component of the student’s application to universities. Students will be able to generate essay ideas for their supplemental essays and create outlines for the prompts. Students should come prepared with a list of supplemental essays they are being asked to answer.
